Lunar Productions Night

Lets start with what I just finished doing less than a few hours ago. SO, I, along with four other individuals put together a show for a Cafe named "Leche cafe & Bookstore" called "Lunar Productions Night" which by my initialization pushed for the revival of Lunar Productions; a group I and 2 others initially founded for the purpose of hosting shows, and to attempt to eventually get other events going like art walks or short film festivals. The stars were kinda the limit. Anyway, I just finished with hosting the show (as in announcing the artists, and setting up my sound system with the help of the other LP members) and I have to say it went very well. There will be videos posted on YouTube as soon as we get them uploaded. They are from the event and we had various styles of music that night. From Opera, jazz, Rock, Acoustic, and indie, I think it was a pretty great night and we pulled in a decent crowd for the night (60-70) considering we pulled the event together under two weeks, which includes getting the musicians to come play, advertising the event, and dealing with people dropping out (flakes) to people not coming to the event that said they were. All in all, it was fun, I had a good time, and despite all that other stuff I have to said it went pretty well, and I've already been there with the other crap so I know it's all a part of the process. If anyone lives in my city feel free to ask more about future events because they will be happening as we've ALREADY been booked for another date exactly one month from today (technically yesterday now) so come if you can. The date for the next one is April 12 2014.

Writers Bistro

NEXT, I would like to address business with Writers Bistro considering I'm busy with school and dealing with events offline I'm still aiming to get this ball rolling too. I'm looking for anyone who thinks they have a clear head on their shoulders, and has decent knowledge about writing (i.e. the function each style of writing serves, or the difference between knowing the rules and breaking them as opposed to breaking rules without purpose/unknowingly.) If you are interested in being part of a team of people who are more concerned with the growth of their peers and themselves as writers in the art form of writing, then by all means send me a note, and I will discuss the specific details about working on the team, the responsibilities, or whether or not I feel you can handle the weight since it's going to be particular rough early and we're at the beginning. Being that as it is, it only makes sense that we start this team with higher caliber individuals who have some experience. The doesn't mean if you've never ran a chat, never taught, or haven't studied writing that it'll automatically disqualify you, but if you are somewhere in the median and you decide you want to be part of this, you'll definitely be considered if you are willing to push forward with yourself to be on top of things. They say there are 2 kinds of people when it comes to being good at something, those who get great through hard work and determination, and those who are born with the talent to be great naturally. The truth is, no matter how "talented" anyone is, from person to person, and from business to business, the former of the 2 will always be chosen.
Meet you on the other side. Likewise, if there is anyone you know that may be interested in something like this, please send them my way.
