I officially have a steady band now. Or at least it feels that way. It's definitely how I expected in that it's not what I expected. Still, the odds of me finding three people who studied jazz that are into playing rock is really really hard, and I feel like I got really lucky. I guess doing the usual "I'm going take this class/route/change just for fun" has paid off. The drummer, as you'll hear if you go listen is amazing by the way. My lead guitarist, I enjoy hearing play. As for the bassist/second guitarist, I loved that he knew his theory and implemented that in the music and it's really unfortunate extenuating circumstances has left him with no time for the band, and so, he had to leave. Our new bassist however, is like I was saying earlier, I'm really lucky. She studied jazz but is into rock so things have been good so far. 

These videos are from the show I played with the people listed in the descriptions. The band now with it's new bassist has a few shows coming up that I hope to get recorded so I'll put those up when it happens. So yeah, I was asked to perform original material at Cypress College and was more than happy to oblidge. The instrutor has asked and had me a perform a few times before but in previous times it was more academically oriented material (all jazz) so I was excited to do some of my own compositions rather than playing and improvising over standards. I was so excited in fact that I forgot to be prepared to record it : D and needless to say, with the help of Lighteh we got about half of the performace. Below are the deviations and the corresponding youtube vids that took me an entire week to get up (frustratingly because of all the waiting). It was all one shot so I had to cut up the video, (wait like 2 hours for it to load on windows movie maker per clip AFTER having already cut the clips up) then another hour to convert to an mp4, and then another hour waiting for it to be uploaded to youtube YAY! : D

There's no need to check out the deviation for the lyrics if you go to the video because the lyrics are already in the description below the video but if you feel like faving the deviation as a written piece, than by all means go ahead, it will be much appreciated. Any ideas for a title would be helpful, although I feel like the right title for this is on the tip of my tongue. Guess I'll see.

 Doing a yardsale in animal crossing new leaf if anyone is interested.
